So being a teacher has some pretty funny moments. Enjoy!
As I am writing math review problems on the board on Friday I hear, "Somebody call 911. Shawty fire burning on the dance floor. Whoa!" Then this friend of mine changes it to "[Inserts his name] call 911. Shawty fire burning on the dance floor. Whoa!" It took a lot to just keep writing my less than and greater than problems while laughing quietly at the board.
Then, I over hear a conversation, "Oh man, I love that song. My dad gave me a radio when I was 4 or 5 and I listened to that song all the time!" The singer says, 'Dude, that song just came out and is on the radio (while looking at the 2nd child like he is completely silly).' Their conversation kept going until a third kid asked what song so the radio listener is struggling trying to come up with it a name for the song, "You know, uh, um, someone call 911?" Then the original singer brought me into it but then chickened out of asking me if I actually knew the song.
Another funny moment this week is when two boys (S and K) were busted pushing on the playground. Neither one could decide who actually started it so I told them they would both have to miss their recess the next day. So, I take them into the gym and we are waiting when S gets up to get a drink and passes K. As he passes, he says, "Sorry I pushed you outside." While K gets up and says, "That's okay. Hug?!?" S puts out his hand (with a look on his face that says, I am NOT hugging you) to just shake it so K grabs it, shakes and then drapes his arms around him. S has a look on his face like, "what is he doing?" While the other kids are starting to laugh that they are hugging. All I could say not to laugh was, "I am so glad you two worked it out."
It's silly things like that, that make your day. Happy Monday!
