39 weeks

Wednesday, July 11 marks 39 weeks!!! You read that right, 39 weeks! Only one more to go until Miss Kinley's due date!!

Babycenter tells us:

Your baby's waiting to greet the world! She continues to build a layer of fat to help control her body temperature after birth, but it's likely she already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of her skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

We have been going to the doctor each week now. When we went on Tuesday (7/10), we were dilated to a 1, which is a Cheerio. That is better than the week before when he said, "You're going to be pregnant for a while longer." But I was hoping for a little more. When we left the appointment this time, he said, "I will see you back in a week... either in the office or at the hospital." So, if we don't make it to the hospital by Tuesday, July 17 then we will meet again in his office. At that appointment, we will talk about choosing a date to make some action happen if she doesn't move out of her amniotic bubble on her own.

I have always admired nice pictures but just did the best with the camera I had, which was free when I took a summer class 3 years ago. Since Tobie will have someone to model with we got in the market for a nicer camera. We did lots of research... well, maybe not. We read a couple things online, took a poll of our friends with nicer cameras and trusted the guy's opinion at Best Buy (he told us he did 6 months to a years worth of research) and bought a new camera.

This is one of the first pictures I took with the camera...

After our appointment on Tuesday, Tobie came out to the front yard before Preston head off to work again. While she was sniffing around, I saw a weed or two that needed to pulled. I pulled one, then another and started to reach for more. That is when I screamed and jumped up!!! There was a turtle in the flower bed! Preston laughed at me, which I am sure it was funny seeing a full term pregnant lady jump up and run off. Of course, I ran for the camera. :) Here is one of the pictures of Franklin.

It was really hot out so I thought he might like a pan of water. He was as big as the pie pan! Apparently, he didn't really care for it. I went inside hoping he would crawl out more so I could snap more pictures of him but he didn't. Then I ran a couple errands. I was gone about 45 minutes and when I came home he was gone! What a fast little booger. He made for a good model for a little bit. We haven't seen Franklin since then.

Wednesday afternoon, brother and Claire came to town. They stayed with us for a few days and then headed to Enid to spend time with the rest of the family until Kinley makes her debut. Thursday morning, we relaxed around the house and had some coloring time. Before it got too hot, there was a little playing in the front yard action.

Then we headed out to the Oklahoma Aquarium in the afternoon.

After the Aquarium, we went home for dinner and little play time. Friday, we had to stick around the house waiting on the windshield repair guy. [when we left for the aquarium, we saw that the heat had cracked across the windshield.] We were told they would be at the house between 10-2. He called at 1:45 to tell us he was on his way out. After that was fixed, we went to Walgreens to pick up a picture and then to my school and back home for little painting time, dinner and exercise time.
